Saproxylic Hoverflies, Flowerflies (Diptera, Syrphidae)

"Tree loving" based on the larval habitat which are tree-related micro habitats (TreMs) like sap-runs, rot holes (external and "trunk" holes), cracks, rotting heartwood, stumps, logs on land or (partially) sumegred in water.

Dependent on veteran trees in forests, city parks, or solitary trees in meadows, gardens etc.
